The Story of Us, the Missionaries

We, Nathan and Ashley, met after Nathan moved to Fort Walton Beach and started attending the Fort Walton Beach Church of Christ. We dated for a little while during highschool and then again at Harding Unviersity. Long story short, we got engaged in 2012, and married in 2014 when Nathan was 22 and I was 20! We’ve been happy ever since!

We have done a few short mission trips together, including one through Harding to Jamaica and one to Ecuador through our home church, as well as our own separate trips. We love serving our Lord together. After marrying, we talked about doing a longer mission after we graduated. After much thought and prayer, we decided to answer the call and move forward with our dream! We looked at many different programs, but found that we both have a heart for Italy and know that the Lord will use our talents there. We are excited to serve with the others on our Avanti Italia Team! We love them, we love traveling together, we love adventure, and most importantly, we love serving for the glory of our Marvelous Creator! We are glad that you have joined us on this "avventura" (as they would say in Italian)! We are on this mission together!

More About Nathan

Though I was born in Jacksonville, AR., I spent most of my formative years growing up in Murfreesboro, TN. While my family lived there we attended the Kingwood Heights Church of Christ. After thirteen years in TN, my dad took a job down in Fort Walton Beach, FL. It was there that I entered the 9th grade at Choctawhatchee High School. My family attended FWB Church of Christ while living in FWB and my parents attend there to this day where my dad serves as an elder. After high school, I moved to Searcy, AR. to attend Harding University. It was here that I earned a bachelor's degree in Youth and Family Ministry. While at Harding I mainly attended the Downtown Church of Christ where I was exposed to their many and varying mission efforts. After graduating Harding I continued to live in Searcy while pursuing a Master’s of Arts in Counseling at Harding School of Theology.

More About Ashley

I was born in Huntsville, Alabama, but soon moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida where my dad took a job. I have lived there most of my life, of what I can remember anyways! ( I promise, vacationing at the beach is wayyyy better than living at it! But… you can have long romantic walks on the beach!) We have attended both Fort Walton Beach Church of Christ and Destin Church of Christ. After I graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School, I decided to attend Harding University. Having gone to Uplift for many summers with my youth group, I just couldn’t resist the place where I was baptized, the beautiful community and Christian atmosphere. I graduated in May of 2016 with a Bachelors of Arts in Interior Design. Now, I’m off to Italy to serve the Lord!
